River's Edge is a cottage development on the shores of historic Otter Creek at the entrance to Lake Champlain. Much history has been written by this winding, willow fringed and lovely river, on whose falls was born the smallest city in the U.S., Vergennes, and the fleet which defeated the British at Plattsburg in 1814. The cottage colony has both efficiency and cottages for families of five. Family cottages consist of two bedrooms, twin and double beds, living area and kitchen combined. They are equipped for light housekeeping, including bed-linen and blankets, as well as bath towels. The kitchens are well equipped with the addition of coffeemakers. Ask us about our brand new cabins, you won't be sorry you did! The cabins are cozy with all the good stuff from home - microwaves, dishwashers, gas fireplaces, full length decks that overlook the beautiful Dead Creek. Drink coffee from your deck and watch the Blue Heron's, Osprey's, as well as many kinds of ducks and geese. The cottage area has broad expanses of green lawn, landscaped with flower gardens, evergreens and with plenty of lawn furniture to provide a restful and quiet atmosphere for the vacationers.
The fishing is always good in the river or in the lake with plenty of walleye running in the spring and northern pike, black bass and perch and other varieties through the rest of the season.
For the enjoyment of the whole family, a swimming pool is available for our guests to use at their leisure.
For those of you who do not have boats, fishing boats with outboard motors are available for rent, as well as canoes and kayaks. Volleyball, horseshoes and other games are here for those who enjoy the outdoor fun. We have a brand new game room where you can play pool, airhockey and foose ball, as well as watch movie, if you desire. Need to bring your laptop along, enjoy wireless internet in the game room, as well. An 18 hole golf course is located within a five minute drive. RV's are always welcome, we provide full hookups, FREE hot showers, playground and dock space.
River's Edge is located on Basin Harbor Road, four miles from the city of Vergennes, which provides full shopping facilities and fine dining, enjoy a band concert on the green.
There are many points of interest nearby such as Fort Ticonderoga, Shelburne Museum, Lake Champlain Maritime Museum, Basin Harbor Club and many many more.
